Eno Ebong, PhD
- Dr. Ebong was a Research Fellow in our department and is currently an Associate Professor of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University. She holds a Master's in Engineering and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on studying the structure and function of the endothelial glycocalyx.
Zahi Fayad, PhD
- Dr. Fayad is a Professor of Radiology and Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He holds the Lucy G. Moses Professorship in Medical Imaging and Bioengineering and is the founding Director of the Biomedical Engineering and Imaging Institute. He holds a BSEE from Bradley University, MSE from Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on noninvasive imaging methods to detect, prevent, and treat cardiovascular disease.
Lizeth Herrera, BS
- Ms. Herrera is a Senior Manager of Medical Education at Stryker Corporation. She has over 20 years of experience in medical devices and her work focuses on bringing medical devices to surgeons that use Stryker's products. She holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Clark Hung, PhD
- Dr. Hung is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Orthopedic Sciences at Columbia University. He holds a M. Eng. and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Bioengineering from Brown University. His research focuses on the development of tissue engineering of functional cartilage replacements.
Adriana Larriera, MS
- Ms. Larriera holds a BE and MS from our department and is a Principal in Strategic Advisory at Trinity Life Sciences in Boston. Previously, she a Director of NMD Early Commercialization Strategy at Biogen and a Strategic Marketing Manager at GE HealthCare
Alina Levchuk, PhD
- Dr. Levchuk holds a BE from our department and is currently an Investor Relations Officer at Roche. She also holds PhD and MS degrees in Biomedical Engineering from ETH Zurich. She was previously a Director of Investor Relations at Novartis and an Equity Research Associate at Evercore and Cantor Fitzgerald.
Tieuvi Nguyen, PhD
- Dr. Nguyen holds a PhD from our department and is the Division Director for Ophthalmic Devices at the US Food and Drug Administration. She was previously a Project Manager at Boehringer Ingelheim and holds a BS in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Howie Rosen, MS, MBA
- Mr. Rosen is a Lecturer in Management at the Stanford University Business School and a consultant in the biotechnology industry, serving on the board of director for several public companies. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, an MS in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering and an AIMBE Fellow.
Gabe Tzeghai, PhD
- Dr. Tzeghai holds a PhD from our department and is the CEO of Summit Innovation Labs Chief Innovation Officer, Summit Innovation Labs. He previously filled roles including Global Executive and Director of Health Care R&D at Procter & Gamble.
Yi-Xian Qin, PhD
- Dr. Qin is the SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook and is a fellow of ASBMR, BMES, AIMBE, and IAA. His research focuses on the mechanical mechanisms of bone adaptation and regeneration.

Jeremy Bekritsky, BE
- Mr. Bekritsky earned his BE in our Department in 2011 and is currently an NPI Engineering Manager at TOMZ Corporations. He was formerly a former Manager in Customer Solutions at Memry Corporation and Product Development Engineer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Anjelica Gonzalez, PhD
- Dr. Gonzalez is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University. She earned a PhD in Structural and Computational Biology from Baylor College of Medicine and a BS in Biological Engineering from Utah State University. Her research focuses on developing biomaterials to understand immunological responses to inflammation.
Keefe Manning, PhD
- Dr. Manning is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University. He earned a BS and MS in Bioengineering at Texas A&M University and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University. His research is focused on hemodynamics, cardiovascular prosthetics, and blood rheology.
Beth Winkelstein, PhD
- Dr. Winkelstein is the Eduardo D. Glandt President's Distinguished Professor of Bioengineering and Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as Deputy Provost. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and a BSE in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on defining and understanding mechanical and cellular mechanisms of spine pain.
