Daniel Hila, a member of The City College of New York’s Class of 2020, is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in security and diplomacy at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Defying humankind’s greatest health crisis in more than a century, The City College of New York’s Andrea Gomez used technology to defend her dissertation and became the first NOAA CESSRST Fellow to earn a PhD. Salk Scholarships awarded by The City University of New York. The scholarships recognize exceptional students who plan careers in medicine and the biological sciences. Lesley Lokko, dean of the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at The City College of York, published an essay in “ e-flux Architecture” entitled “ The Age of Wildfire” dealing with the issue of educational space. Lokko began writing when she left South Africa in 2019 and concluded in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to joining City College, Lokko was based in South Africa for five years as the director of the Graduate School of Architecture at the University of Johannesburg.
