A new mobile app developed by City College of New York physicist Hernan Makse and his colleagues will track and trace those infected with the novel coronavirus as a means of limiting and containing the spread of the virus, which causes COVID-19. The City College of New York announced a newly implemented program to train Home Health Aides (HHA). Sponsored by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), the training of HHAs is critical to address an immediate shortage since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. First launched in 2013, the Translational Research Training in Addictions for Racial/Ethnic Minorities (TRACC) program at The City College of New York and Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) set about increasing the number of scientists from underrepresented racial/ethnic minority groups conducting translational studies in addiction research. Four students from The City College of New York’s Class of 2020 are recipients of Sydney and Helen Jacoff Scholarships from the Division of Humanities and the Arts.
