Jeff Morris, director of the Benjamin Levich Institute for Physico-Chemical Hydrodynamics in The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering, is the 2022 recipient of the Weissenberg Award from the European Society of Rheology (ESR). The Andrew W. A new endowed scholarship, the Robindra Nath Khaund Scholarship, has been created to support the cost of a student’s education at City College of New York. The award is available to immigrant students, or students who are the children of immigrants. The $4,000 annual award will commence spring semester of 2023. The naming is subject to approval by the CUNY Board of Trustees. Trailblazing physicist Myriam P. Sarachik’s remarkable legacy at The City College of New York, where she spent more than 50 years teaching and conducting groundbreaking research before her death at age 88 last October, is set to continue, thanks to a $1.5 million pledge before her passing.
