The recognition is in the “Tier 2 research institution” category with silver status. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® Schools Awards designation were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Mike Holober, the renowned City College of New York music professor and Grammy Award nominee, is the recipient of the 2022 Andrew Imbrie Award in Music from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Alumnus Henry Calle journeyed from Ecuador to the United States at 16 years old with the dream of pursuing higher education but had to work to help his parents.
