Filling a HEO Series Vacancy

Stage 1:  To fill a HEO series vacancy, please follow the steps below:

  • Submit a Vacancy Review Board form (VRB) for review and approval
  • Once the VRB is approved, HR will notify the department for the next steps
  • The department must then submit the Recruitment Plan Approval Form and job description to the Office of Diversity and Compliance (ODC). For more details, visit their page here.
  • Once the recruitment plan is approved by ODC, both the department and HR will be notified. HR will then initiate the job posting process and notify the hiring manager when the posting is live.
  • The Search Committee schedules the charge meeting with ODC and gains access to CUNYfirst
  • The Search Committee interviews, selects finalists, and then submits the Search Certification to ODC for review and approval.
  • ODC will notify the hiring manager and HR regarding the search certification via email
  • The approved action must be submitted to HR for HEO Screening Committee review and approval by the specified deadline listed above. Late submissions will be held for the next HEO Screening Committee meeting.

Stage 2: HEO Screening Committee Review and Approval.

Stage 3: HR will notify the Department of the screening results and provide instructions on the next steps.
