“This scholarship was one of the best things that could have happened during my college education. I received this scholarship by being accepted into the Honors program at CCNY. This program is a tight- knit community that made my college experience less daunting and more inviting. Being in the Honors program, right away I was placed into a welcoming community of peers and advisors that allowed me to make connections with people and have fun during college.

“My major is mechanical engineering and I hope to work in the aerospace field. I wish that, in the future, I will be able to look back at my life and be happy with all my choices.”

Elizabeth Akinyemi

Grove School of Engineering

“As a former City College scholar, I felt it was important to give back to CCNY’s future generations. I want to be sure that other students have the chance to matriculate, learn and graduate with a top-notch education. I graduated from CCNY debt free and continued on to Law School. I was ably prepared for Law School and appreciated the invaluable education I received at City.”

Hazel-Ann James, BA ‘96
