"I remember starting CCNY as a transfer student not knowing what CUNY EDGE was. Once I was introduced to Melissa, everything went uphill from there. I was able to attend workshops held by the dedicated advisors that helped me with study skills and awareness of myself as a student. I still use tools that I learned, today like the Pomodoro technique and prioritizing (the key to productivity). I realized through CUNY EDGE that support and determination can take you a long way. Being in the program gave me confidence as a student and helped me step out of my comfort zone. The advisors were always so welcoming and encouraging. They saw my potential and helped me realize it. I became a mentor for First Year Students, worked alongside other staff in the college and I even lead a First-Year seminar to help students adjust to college. It was through the support of the CUNY EDGE team that I was able to accomplish these things and I am truly grateful."
