Campus Posting Guidelines

The City College of New York recognizes its obligation to facilitate peaceful demonstrations and civic expression in all ways possible, ensure personal safety, and enable necessary activities of the College to be free from unreasonable disruption.

To that end, no student, faculty, or staff member may affix a flyer, placard, banner, or other sign, on campus unless it is affixed securely to a location that has been approved for posting.  Approval to post posters and flyers on College property must be obtained from the appropriate authority – the Student Life Office ( reservations@ccny.cuny.edu ) for student events and the Events Management Department ( ccnyevents@ccny.cuny.edu ) for faculty/staff events. All flyers, posters, banners, and the like for faculty/staff events must comply with the CCNY Style Guide; should anyone have questions on the proper usage of the College’s styling, they should contact The Office of Institutional Advancement, Communications & External Relations at communications@ccny.cuny.edu .

All approved materials will be emailed in a PDF format with a stamp of approval from the appropriate authority. All approved materials may be freely printed, distributed, and/or posted. However, bulletin boards assigned to specific divisions, programs, or the like should be respected.

All marketing materials must be removed immediately following the event or 15 days after the authorization date, whichever comes first. Removal is the responsibility of the sponsoring group, organization, or department. Materials found posted in unauthorized places or areas, or materials that were not approved will be removed. Posters or flyers without the required date stamp will also be removed.
