Applied Psychology Internship: Recruitment & Selection

Seeking a results driven individual to participate in efforts to deliver the best slate of diverse and inclusive talent to a recruitment consulting firm.

The firm has successfully aided many institutions in identifying exceptionally talented senior professionals and top administrators. Their approach, for thirty years, has been to identify uniquely qualified, eligible candidates through a well devised national networking process.

This is an opportunity to work alongside senior level recruiters to develop skills as well as explore "behind-the-curtains" of the hiring process which can better prepare you for the workforce / job market. Days/hours are flexible. Office is located near Penn Station / Macy’s.

In addition to mentorship and a letter of recommendation, the successful intern will

Gain Experience / Training in:

  • Marketing and Recruitment Search Planning
  • Interviewing and Selecting Executives and Administrators
  • Coordinating Projects
  • Meeting Management
  • Consulting
  • Researching and Database Updating using Current Technology

Desired Abilities & Experience:

  • BA - Human Resources or Applied Psychology track preferred (in process or obtained)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible with the ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative and contribute to projects
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills / Technologically savvy

Responsibilities / Learning Objectives:

  • Learn and execute the fundamentals of sourcing and candidate selection
  • Marketing to select non-profit organizations
  • Handle telephone tasks, such as placing calls, call transfers, taking messages and call backs
  • Participate in preparation of Marketing and Search Plans
  • Candidate recruitment; Interview and determine candidate’s sustainability
  • Research utilizing current technology to identify appropriate candidates and potential clients
  • Work with professional Supervisor(s); Assist with a variety of select professional functions
  • Maintain Bullhorn database by entering, verifying, and updating data

Must be available 15 hours per week. This is an unpaid opportunity. (FOR CREDIT ONLY)
