Announcements:
President Boudreau discussed the emergency Tabletop exercise that took place in the Senior staff meeting, where there was a presentation of different scenarios and what to do in various emergency situations. He stated during the January 9th Cabinet meeting there will be a discussion on the results of the conversation. This will also be discussed in the Faculty Senate meeting.
President Boudreau stated that we are now at a stage where Admissions is turning to Fall admits. Stating that, if admits can be identified early, outreach to engaging with them should begin. He encouraged the Deans to start thinking about how they’re going to reach out to the students. President Boudreau also informed the Cabinet that there are funds to hire currently enrolled students to reach out to engage admitted students.
President Boudreau introduced the topic of having a first-year class for students. He asked that we begin to think about whether or not the introduction of a new onboarding first-year experience class might be useful to the college.
President Boudreau discussed the assignments given from the previous Cabinet meeting and spoke about some of the discussion that took place from the October 2022 Cabinet Retreat. He reminded Cabinet that one of the banners was accountability stating that one of the reasons for the change in the size of the Cabinet membership was to make the group nimbler and to meet more frequently in order to get the work done. He stated he will continue to make a conversation from one meeting that will lead to work between meetings, so that the work can be more fruitful at the next meeting.
President Boudreau began a discussion about retention and invited Nikisha Williams, Executive Director of Institutional Research to the meeting to give a presentation. Cabinet members will receive two PowerPoint presentations in lieu of a conversation on Predictive Analytics and Navigate and be prepared to discuss them at the January 9th Cabinet meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 12:00 pm.
