The members of the new board are thought leaders in the areas of academic medicine, primary care, and diversity and inclusion. Board members are committed to CSOM’s mission of recruiting underrepresented populations into medicine, increasing medical services in underserved areas, and increasing the availability of primary care physicians and physician assistants that reflect the diversity of the surrounding communities. Released by ZOHO Music, the collection is a nominee in the Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album category. Dr. Susan L. Perkins, a microbiologist with expertise on protozoan parasites that cause malaria, is the new Martin and Michele Cohen Dean of Science at The City College of New York. Her appointment is effective Jan. 6, 2020. Perkins joins City College from the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in Manhattan where she served as Curator and Professor of microbial genomics for the past 15 years. Wesson , associate dean for research in The City College of New York’s Grove School of Engineering , is among 443 new Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The honor is in recognition of their scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications. A chemical engineer, Wesson was specifically cited by AAAS for her “seminal contributions to the field of numerical analyses of polymer crystallization kinetics, technology, service to society, and support to education, women, and underrepresented minorities.” She

Michio Kaku, the internationally renowned theoretical physicist and co-founder of string theory, is the 2019 recipient of the John H. Finley Award. The award is given out by the Alumni Association of The City College of New York for exemplary and dedicated service to the City of New York. The Alumni Association also honored four notable City College alumni for outstanding post-graduate achievement.
