Bloomberg Lab at The City College
Located in the City TECH Center on the first floor of the NAC Cohen Library, the Bloomberg Finance Lab provides access to nine Bloomberg Terminals for current students, faculty, and staff.
Bloomberg, founded in 1981 by Michael Bloomberg, is recognized as a global leader in 24-hour financial news and data. The company delivers real-time and historical price data, financial analysis, trading news, and expert insights, as well as coverage of general news and sports.
The Bloomberg Terminal, also known as the Bloomberg Professional Service, is a sophisticated software and hardware system that provides real-time global financial data, news, and messaging capabilities. It enables users to monitor and analyze breaking news and execute financial transactions, such as stock and options trades. Please note that the academic version of the terminal includes a 15-minute delay in data presentation.

How to Obtain Bloomberg BFF, BMC, or ESG Certifications
To earn your Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals (BFF), Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC), or Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) certifications, follow these steps:
1. Complete all required modules for the desired certification.
2. Navigate to the "Certificates" tab on the Bloomberg Education Platform.
3. Select the appropriate certificate:
- Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals (BFF)
- Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC)
- Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)
4. Upon successful completion, a verification link will be provided.
5. All official verification links will begin with: portal.bloombergforeducation.com/certificates
These certifications are a valuable addition to your credentials and are highly regarded in the financial industry.
Lab Usage Policies
- Open terminals are first come, first served, 2 hour time limit
- For Group rooms reservation email: bloomberg@ccny.cuny.edu . Rooms remain locked when not scheduled; Tech Center staff will grant access. 2 hour time limit
- Please promptly report technology issues to bloomberg@ccny.cuny.edu
- Users are responsible for keeping the areas clean.
- Voices should be kept as low as possible.
- Headphones are not provided, but recommended for each user to use while using the terminals.
