This World Food Day, we invite you to join us in a week long activation in an effort to support ongoing programming and student scholarships around Benny's Pantry. On October 13th at 12:00 PM, we invite you visit our farmer's market and CSA program, Market In The Heights. alongside CCNY initiatives. Then, at 4:00 PM, we invite you to join us for our yearly panel discussion. 

This year, we will pick up on ways we move forward through an ongoing pandemic with drastic price increases and discuss the economic status of New York City, projections, and specifics around sustainable development goals within the food and agricultural industry to make sure everyone has regular access to nutritious food.

As New York City tries to recover from the pandemic that made the city that never sleeps take a rest, we find ourselves stuck between a space of moving forward and never forgetting the past. In many new ways, companies have transitioned into a time of recovery. With that, comes a need to bolster the economy.

With lives quickly moving, prices rising, and global warming, it becomes almost easy to leave behind those who haven’t had a moment or chance to adopt and adjust. The World Food Day moment for 2022 is to remind ourselves that as one society, even in moments of recovery, we cannot leave anyone behind. 

Each activation will push towards Lavender Giving Day as a way to continue support of our efforts to secure internships for students and curate more programming that is also community supported in developing sustainable economic growth.
