Overview:

The Graduate Research Symposium is an event where graduate students are given the opportunity to showcase their hard work and talents. All majors are welcome and all types of projects are accepted.

What is expected of Presenters?

Presenters must be prepared to showcase a project that they have been working on or completed. Each presenter will have their own station where visitors and judges will come to check out their project. Projects can be presented in various mediums. For example, posters, models, photo collections, performances, Powerpoint presentations, etc. Presenters must be able to explain to symposium visitors and judges what their research is all about.

Why should you consider entering the symposium?

In all of our majors we are required to get up in front of our classmates and share our findings, opinions, and ideas. For some majors this is more prevalent and the symposium offers students experience in sharing their findings in a professional, academic setting.  Even if you are a shy student, give it a try. Additionally, the top winners will be awarded cash prizes.

Judges & Volunteers:

We will be asking for judges on a volunteer basis. Preferably we would like to have a mixture of Faculty, Staff, and Students to judge. As the event approaches we will send out an email requesting volunteers. If you feel like you would like to volunteer, you can contact us at GSC@gtest.ccny.cuny.edu or come to our office in room NAC 1/113. Additional volunteer opportunities will be photographers, crowd control, and sign in.
