MSCHE Timeline

City College’s timeline is designed to ensure that key MSCHE deadlines for the self-study process are met. It focuses on the work to be completed by the steering committee and working groups. It is designed to be inclusive of all participants, including stakeholders, students, faculty, and staff.

CCNY self-study timeline

Spring 2024

  • Preliminary meeting with department chairs — re: MSCHE self-study

Fall 2024

  • Presentation to College-wide review committee and request for nominations for self-study co-chairs and faculty lead
  • Form steering committee
  • Members of steering committee attend MSCHE Self-Study Institute
  • Begin the self-study design
  • Begin planning the evidence inventory for self-study
  • Determine institutional priorities and intended outcomes for the self-study with the senior leadership
  • Steering committee begins regular meetings

Post SSI conference call with MSCHE VP Liaison

Spring 2025

  • Self-study co-chairs share institutional priorities with the College-wide review committee
  • Steering committee drafts the self-study design
  • Self-study co-chairs update the President's Cabinet
  • College President and Provost charge the steering committee and working group co-chairs
  • President and the Provost approve the draft self-study design
  • Draft self-study design submitted to MSCHE VP Liaison
  • Steering committee and working group co-chairs meet monthly
  • Self-Study Preparation Visit (SSPV) by MSCHE VP Liaison
  • After receiving feedback from MSCHE VP Liaison, the College submits revised self-study design

Self-study design is approved by the MSCHE

Fall 2025

  • College President and Provost charge the standards working groups
  • Monthly events for each standard begin
  • Working groups carry out their research
  • Steering committee and working group co-chairs meet monthly
  • Steering committee engages the campus through townhall meetings

Self-study co-chairs update the College-wide review committee and the President's Cabinet

Spring 2026

  • Preliminary working group reports due by end of fall semester
  • Monthly events for each standard continue
  • Self-study co-chairs update the College-wide review committee and the President's Cabinet

First draft of self-study report completed

Fall 2026

  • First draft of self-study report shared with campus stakeholders via town halls, presentations at standing meetings, and online fora
  • Self-study co-chairs update the College-wide review committee and the President's Cabinet
  • Draft self-study report revised

Preliminary visit from MSCHE Peer Evaluation Team chair

Spring 2027

  • Campus prepares for evaluation team site visit.
  • The City College President approves the self-study report, and the ALO submits the report and evidence inventory to the MSCHE via the institutional portal.
  • The MSCHE evaluation team visits the college
  • The evaluation team issues its report
  • The College responds to the evaluation team report
