The President's Award for Excellence
This award recognizes both the creativity and commitment of a full-time faculty member and the impact that s/he has had on student learning through a combination of innovative approaches in mentoring, research, teaching and/or scholarship. The award will be made annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated extraordinary service to students, to scholarship and to the College.
To be eligible for the award, the faculty member must have a minimum of five consecutive years of service with City College. A minimum of three recommendations must be received for consideration. Adjunct faculty may be nominated if they meet the years of service requirement. Note that a maximum of three letters of recommendation, including from the Chairperson and/or Dean, are necessary to be considered for this award.
President's Award for Outstanding Faculty Service
This award recognizes the importance of faculty participation in the governance of the institution and its significant impact on the College and the greater College community. Annually, the award will be presented to a faculty member on a college-wide basis. Each will set up a committee to review nominations for the award and make a recommendation to the Dean, Provost and President.
To be eligible for the award, the faculty member must have a minimum of five consecutive years of service with City College. Adjunct faculty may be nominated if they meet the years of service requirement.
President's Award for Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Service
This award recognizes the excellence of an adjunct faculty member whose exemplary participation in the life of the College demonstrates the important role that adjunct faculty have in the campus community. The focus of this award is on excellence in scholarship in combination with outstanding contributions to student success.
Provost's Outstanding Teaching Award
This award recognizes excellence in teaching as acknowledged by peers, current and past students. One award will be presented. Consideration for teaching excellence may also include the development of innovative and successful teaching methods or techniques, new courses or major course revisions and the development of quality textbooks, manuals and support materials.
The award is open to all CCNY tenured and tenure-track faculty and lecturers.
Provost's Award for Pedagogical and Curricular Innovation
This award recognizes an individual faculty member or a faculty team which has a demonstrated significant positive impact on student learning and retention through pedagogical and curricular innovations.Projects should demonstrate originality and have potential for widespread replication. Project outcomes and impact must be supported by appropriate assessment data.
The award is open to all CCNY tenured and tenure-track faculty and lecturers.
