Application
The eligibility requirements for U-RISE trainees:

Must be a U.S. citizen or hold Permanent Resident Status (i.e., a green card).

Must be an undergraduate majoring in Science, Biomedical Engineering, or Psychology, and indicate an intent to pursue graduate training (Ph.D.), NOT a clinical career.

IF YOU INTEND TO APPLY TO MEDICAL SCHOOL YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE!

Should have a GPA of 3.2 or higher and be a full-time student.

Should have completed at least 60 credits, and earned no more than 90 credits in the semester or application (i.e. ideally you will be a rising Junior).

Must not have other federal grant support (this does not include scholarships like Pell grants).
The CCNY U-RISE program aims to recruit trainees from groups that are underrepresented in STEM disciplines based on one or more of the following attributes:
(1) race and ethnicity (Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, other Pacific Islander)
(2) economic and/or educational disadvantage
(3) disability status validated by the university
(4) women in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Biophysics
