Overview
B.A. in Social Justice and Urban Life Program
You will analyze the causes and consequences of inequality within urban communities by examining interconnected structural factors such as wealth and income disparities, housing segregation, educational inequality, and health disparities, alongside the influence of race, ethnicity, gender, class, and sexuality. You will explore diverse social justice practices, including land justice, advocacy planning, grassroots activism, and community organizing while evaluating concepts and policies like gentrification, redlining, and voter suppression. Additionally, you will conduct, synthesize, evaluate, and present cutting-edge research in social justice and urban life through an intersectional framework.
Major Courses
Students in the B.A. in Social Justice and Urban Life program must complete five mandatory major courses, totaling 20 credits, which form the foundation of their academic journey. In addition, students must choose three major elective courses.
