B.A. in Social Justice and Urban Life

In-Person, Online, Evening, Weekend, and HyFlex Classes: Designed for Working Adults and Transfer Students.

Welcome!

The B.A. in Social Justice and Urban Life provides an interdisciplinary framework for analyzing social justice issues and inequality within urban communities in New York City, the Americas, and globally. The curriculum develops critical thinking, reading, writing skills, research abilities, and information literacy, culminating in a capstone project. Drawing on strengths in Urban Studies, Human Rights, Labor Studies, Carework, Black, Race, and Ethnic Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies, students engage with scholars, professionals, and activists through coursework, experiential learning, and public lectures.
