As of Monday, 12/6/21, we will be discontinuing the use of the V-22 sticker and the Excelsior Pass for campus access (please see my memo on Random COVID Testing). Effective November 17, 2021, CUNY implemented a random testing program for vaccinated employees. Fully vaccinated employees with approved vaccination information in CUNYfirst will be randomly selected to participate in the COVID-19 testing program. Being tested when you are notified is not optional and is necessary in order to obtain campus-wide results each week and thus help keep everyone safe.

As part of the University's multi-pronged strategy to monitor and mitigate the spread of COVID-19, CUNY is launching a random testing program for vaccinated employees and students accessing CUNY facilities.
Starting this week, a number of randomly selected, vaccinated individuals across the University will be contacted each week to be tested for COVID-19. The random testing program complements CUNY's mandatory weekly testing for employees who have not disclosed their vaccination status and students who obtained a vaccination exemption.

CUNY has an obligation to protect the health of employees in the workplace. In light of the rapidly changing landscape and rising infection rates among vaccinated and unvaccinated people due to COVID-19, CUNY will continue to follow the guidelines issued by the CDC and OSHA in an effort to stop the spread of the virus to others.

Vaccinated and Weekly COVID-19 Testing
As of August 16, 2021, anyone entering the City College campus (or any other CUNY site) is required to do one of the following in order to enter the campus: (1) show proof of full vaccination (defined as 14 days after receiving the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine) or (2) show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than seven days prior to the date the employee wishes to enter the campus.

NOTICE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: FDA Approval – Guidance for CUNY Students
The FDA granted full approval to the Pfizer vaccine on August 23, 2021, triggering a 45-day final deadline for CUNY students to be fully vaccinated and their vaccination documentation uploaded and approved in CUNYfirst. Students now have until September 27 to upload proof of vaccination into CUNYfirst.
To meet the 45-day deadline, students must get the first Moderna shot by August 26, the first Pfizer shot by September 2, and the single Johnson & Johnson shot by September 23.

Based on policy received from CUNY, the following procedures should be followed for reporting actual or potential COVID cases on campus:
If you are feeling any symptoms of COVID, you should notify your supervisor immediately and not report to work. Please note that the CUNY policy is for you to take sick leave if you cannot come to work because of illness.
