There are student leadership opportunities during Orientation, Student Orientation Leaders and GPS Navigators.
Student Orientation Leaders
As an Orientation Leader you become a Student Ambassador of City College, and provide a positive orientation experience for our incoming students. New Student Orientation leaders facilitate the transition of new students to the institution, prepare students for educational opportunities and student responsibilities, and initiate the integration of new students into the intellectual, cultural and social climate of City College.
GPS Navigators Program
The GPS or Growth and Professional Success Program, is a year-long peer/professional guidance system for incoming freshmen that helps students hone achieving behaviors and acclimate to college life. Peer mentors, called GPS Navigators, are City College students, specially selected and trained by the Office of Student Life and Leadership Development. To guide their mentees, GPS Navigators partner with a professional mentor, who is a Career Coach from the Professional Development Institute, a professional development initiative run through the Division of Student Affairs.
