Eleven City College advertising and public relations students were selected as finalists for the 2014 Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP), run by the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4As). The highly competitive program offers selected undergraduate and graduate students a 10-week paid summer internship at a 4A's member advertising agency. The City College of New York will host the preliminary round of the New York City Science & Engineering Fair , 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, March 2, in the Great Hall, Shepard Hall. A new study led by City College of New York psychologist Margaret Rosario found that youths of same-sex orientation are more likely to engage in behaviors associated with cancer risk than heterosexuals. The peer-reviewed findings appear in the February 2014 issue of the " American Journal of Public Health ." Titled "Sexual Orientation Disparities in Cancer-Related Risk Behaviors of Tobacco, Alcohol, Sexual Behaviors, and Diet and Physical Activity: Pooled Youth Risk Behavior Surveys," the study pooled YRBS (Youth Risk Behavior Survey) data from 2005 and 2007. City College of New York seniors Rene Cordero , Shanna Jean-Baptiste , Emmanuel Lachaud and Debra Williams traveled to South Africa to attend the University of Cape Town Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellows (MMUF) January program.
