For the second year running, The City College of New York is the recipient of four of the eight Jonas E. Salk Scholarships awarded by The City University of New York this year. The scholarships recognize exceptional students who plan careers in medicine and the biological sciences. As Salk Scholars, Marisol Cortés, Anika Nabila, Christopher Reid and Violeta Contreras Ramirez will each receive a stipend of $8,000 to be appropriated over three or four years of medical studies. A green project by an interdisciplinary team of City College of New York students is the winner of The United States Environmental Protection Agency’s fifth annual Campus RainWorks Challenge.
