Levich Institue Computing Resources
Overview
The Benjamin Levich Institute for Physico-Chemical Hydrodynamics (Levich Institute) is a research center situated on the City College of New York (CCNY) campus, within the Grove School of Engineering. The institute specializes in fluid dynamics, jamming, and network phenomena.
The Levich Institute provides computing resources and training to its affiliated faculty, research associates, and students, supporting both research and educational activities.
Resources
- Virtual servers
Computing services at Levich Institute are now provided mainly through Linux virtual servers.- Individual servers: Custom built for users. The default configuration is 8 CPU cores +16 GB RAM + 300 GB storage + Linux OS + ssh access, with weekly automated backup.
- Shared servers:

- cheme: Chem E student Linux server
- jupiter: Levich JupyterHub
- jupyterce: Civil Engineering JupyterHub
- File servers
Levich Institute offers file severs for research groups to backup and share their data internally.- Backup: Users can apply accounts to access Windows share for Windows OS and Linux, Apple AFP share for Time Machine
