This eight-week program on the beautiful campus of Stanford University in Palo Alto, California is designed for students considering doctoral study in one of the Humanities disciplines. Each CCNY student will conduct independent research under the direction of a Stanford faculty mentor, participate in a weekly seminar on research in the Humanities, attend workshops on the graduate application process, and receive free Graduate Record Exam (GRE) preparation. CUNY PIPELINE PROGRAM
The CUNY Pipeline Program is designed to provide educational and financial support to CUNY undergraduates from groups currently underrepresented in our nation's universities who are interested in pursuing the Ph.D. in preparation for college-level teaching and advanced research. MELLON-SCHOMBURG HUMANITIES SUMMER INSTITUTE

The Mellon-Schomburg Humanities Summer Institute encourages minority students and others with an interest in African-American and African Diasporan Studies to pursue graduate degrees in the humanities. The program, which is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents, offers a six-week session for ten rising seniors. Five will be selected from colleges and universities in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut and five from Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the nation. NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students in the sciences and social sciences through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution.
