Nelson Igunma is a first-generation Nigerian American and native New Yorker who is using public scholarship as a form of healing after years working in the Global South. His experience working with nonprofits, startups, and social enterprises has informed his commitment to interdisciplinary research and writing at CCNY and throughout CUNY. Nelson's research uses studies of labor, innovation, and organizations to understand the gaps between what we need to live dignified lives and what we consider innovative. Nelson has recently presented research at CCNY’s Critical Perspectives on Human Rights Conference and shares his poetry in readings organized on- and off-campus.
