Kaitlyn Murphy holds an A.A. in English from Queensborough Community College, CUNY and is currently pursuing her B.A. in English at The City College of New York, CUNY. A Queens native and an Ecuadorian, Murphy is driven by her culture and passion towards literature, culture, and theory. Murphys’s research interests include Latin American, Latino, and contemporary literature, as well as literary theory and semiotics. She is currently pursuing a research project through the City College Fellows program to understand the evolving literary identity of Latinx authors and their relation (or deviation) from the magical realist genre. Through her research, Murphy aims to bring Latinx authors to the forefront of academic conversations. Murphy plans to pursue a PhD in English, combining her love for research, theory, and teaching.
