MD Kabir was born in Bangladesh and moved to America at age 12. MD always had a passion for helping others and wanted to become a doctor.  But upon entering City College, he discovered an interest in research and declared a major in Chemistry with a Biochemistry concentration. For more than a year, MD conducted research for Professor Kamilah Ali on the oxidation of low density lipoprotein (LDL) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) in the development of atherosclerosis in mice. Currently, he is doing research on oncogenic gene expression on human epidermal keratinocytes with Professor Mark Steinberg. In the future, MD wishes to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry with a medical degree in pathology. He hopes to divide his time between doing research and giving back to the community.
