Gregory McEvoy is a City College of New York junior, majoring in History. His planned area of study is Russian radicalism, operating in a broader global trend of 19th-century reaction, resistance, and revolution. Gregory is working towards a thesis analyzing the role of the Socialist-Revolutionary press in agitation and propaganda during the Russian Revolution of 1905. Through this program, Gregory is hoping to understand the foundational role of the press in revolutionary politics and its challenging of the dichotomy of “propaganda of the deed” being separate from propaganda of the “word.” In his spare time, he enjoys just sitting back and relaxing.
