Marshak Plaza February Updates 2023

Dear CCNY Community:

This is the first project update for the Marshak Plaza Renovations. Each month an update will be posted that speaks to the progress and impacts that can be expected for the following 30 day period. Renovation of the Marshak Building Plaza is anticipated to start the week of January 23, 2023. This project is a multiphase project to renovate and transform the Marshak Plaza into a new outdoor space. This work will be done in four phases as follows:

Phase I: North-West corner of the Marshak Plaza
Phase II: South-West corner of the Marshak Plaza
Phase III: North-East corner of the Marshak Plaza
Phase IV: South- East corner of the Marshak Plaza

Demolition work is expected to commence by the end of January, 2023. In preparation for this work sidewalk sheds are installed and will remain for the duration of the project.
For this 30 day period, dumpsters will be placed at North West corner of the Marshak Building. Pavers will be removed and roofing material will be exposed. There will be noise from material dumping to the dumpsters. Sidewalk closures are anticipated along the Convent avenue as the demolition takes place.
