Research: Mericel studied Dominican migration to Pennsylvania, particularly to the cities of Philadelphia, Hazleton, Allentown, and Reading, which today are major hubs for Dominicans in the U.S. She created an annotated bibliography to determine how Dominicans in Pennsylvania have been characterized by scholars and others, how these assessments compare to Dominicans in other states, and whether any narratives about these people were missing.
