Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is a multipurpose research institution funded primarily by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. Located on the center of Long Island, New York, Brookhaven Lab brings world-class facilities and expertise to the most exciting and important questions in basic and applied science—from the birth of our universe to the sustainable energy technology of tomorrow. BNL is a multi-disciplinary national laboratory owned by the Department of Energy (DOE) and home to seven (7) Nobel Prize Laureates in numerous fields of research.
Noel D. Blackburn is the Manager of University Relations and DOE Internship Programs in the Office of Educational Programs (OEP) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). Noel is responsible for a $4M university internship program; designing, implementing and managing workforce development research programs for undergraduates, graduates, and faculty at BNL. Noel earned his Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering, where he received a university citation for outstanding performance, and a Bachelors of Engineering in Civil Engineering from CUNY-City College of New York.
