Free Narcan Training with NYC DOHMH
Naloxone (Narcan®) is a safe medication that can save someone’s life by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose. It only works on opioids, such as heroin, prescription painkillers and fentanyl, but it is safe to use even if opioids are not present.
Join The CCNY LGBTQ+ Student Center and The Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture in partnership with NYC Department of Mental Health and Hygiene's (DOHMH) Maddy Reagan and Christian Jimenez for a FREE Narcan training! This hybrid training will:
- Cover steps for responding to an opioid overdose with naloxone
- Outline options for accessing an Overdose Response Kit in person or by mail
- Review substance misuse crisis among LGBTQ+ folks in NYC
- Cover fentanyl testing
Free pizza and refreshments provided after training!
