Fall 2023 Narcan Training with NYC DOHMH

Naloxone (Narcan®) is a safe medication that can save someone’s life by reversing the effects of an opioid overdose. It only works on opioids, such as heroin, prescription painkillers and fentanyl, but it is safe to use even if opioids are not present.

Join The CCNY LGBTQ+ Student Center in partnership with NYC Department of Mental Health and Hygiene's (DOHMH) Alex Clarke and Christian Jimenez for a free Narcan training! This hybrid training will:

  • cover steps for responding to an opioid overdose with naloxone
  • outline options for accessing an Overdose Response Kit in person or by mail
  • go over the substance misuse crisis among LGBTQ+ folks in NYC
  • show a live fentanyl testing strip demonstration

THOSE THAT REGISTER IN ADVANCE WILL GET A FREE OVERDOSE RESPONSE KIT UPON TRAINING COMPLETION. KITS WILL BE GIVEN TO OUR IN PERSON GUESTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER TRAINING. FOLKS JOINING OVER ZOOM WILL GET A FREE ORDER AND DELIVERY LINK FOR THEIR KIT.
