AAC/SDS can assist students with disabilities in completing the requirements for requesting accommodations for standardized and high-stakes exams. We offer this assistance to current and former students who are or were registered with AAC/SDS and used exam accommodations. AAC/SDS staff will need to consult with students individually to provide assistance before we will sign forms, or provide letters, or other documents to the testing agency. Standardized and high-stakes exams that AAC/SDS can assist with include:
· The Graduate Record Exam (GRE)
· The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
· Professional Engineering Exams through NCEES
· The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) through AAMC
· The Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
· New York State Teacher Certification Examations (NYSTCE)
· United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE)
AAC/SDS recommends that students review the accommodation requirements and information for the standardized test they plan to take well in advance of their exam date. The process for each exam can be very different. Please bring all necessary documentation and information to your meeting with an AAC/SDS counselor. Please note that the AAC/SDS does not make accommodation determinations for these standardized tests and each testing agency has different requirements and processes.
