Program Officer

Layana Abu Touq, MSc is the Program Officer of the S Jay Levy Fellowship. In addition, Layana is an adjunct professor in the Vocation, Career and Self-Development course and Ethics in the Workplace course for fellows. 

Layana obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The City College of New York in 2018. She holds a Master of Science in International Public Policy from The London School of Economics and Political Science.

In addition to her role, Layana is also an adjunct professor in the Political Science Department at CCNY, and a Co-Founder and CPO of ELNOR, an edtech nonprofit startup that provides education access to adults in refugee camps. Prior to her current roles, Layana has worked for the New York Public Interest Research Group where she managed state-wide campaigns to deploy social justice advocacy ranging from higher education access to civic engagement, healthcare, and combating poverty.

She is passionate about education policy as it interplays with economic mobility, equity, and global social justice.
