The City College of New York’s Master of Landscape Architecture Program clinched the International Landscape School’s Prize at the 11th International Biennial of Landscape Architecture in Barcelona, Spain. In New York City for the United Nations General Assembly, Luis Abinader, state President of the Dominican Republic, took time off to visit The City College of New York and inaugurate the “ 1961: Year of Freedom” exhibit that commemorates the end of the Rafael Trujillo dictatorship on the Caribbean Island 60 years ago. Pres. Abinader was joined at the ceremony by City College President Vincent Boudreau. The City College of New York ranks #1 for Best Value among the top 250 U.S. schools, according to the 2022 Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education Best College Rankings. The publications determined this by dividing each institution’s overall score by its net price. Ricardo Polanco, an Honors student at The City College of New York majoring in civil engineering, is one of 24 Americans selected as Minority Student Fellows by the Washington, D.C.-based Transportation Research Board (TRB), a program unit of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
