City College of New York creative writing professor and author Emily Raboteau is the winner of the fourth International Flash Fiction competition. Her 100-word short story, “Oysters,” is adjudged the best from more than 35,000 submissions from 149 countries this year. The City College of New York’s Undergraduate Student Government invites children up to the age of 12 from the community to its “Harlemween” party on Friday, October 30, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the North Academic Center Ballroom. Burnout and depression overlap considerably, according to the latest study on the subject led by psychology Professor Irvin S. Schonfeld of The City College of New York’s Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership and his colleague, Renzo Bianchi, of the Institute of Work and Organizational Psychology, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
