The City College of New York’s M.F.A. in film graduate, Yvonne Ng, is the winner of this year’s Student Academy Awards ® competition for her short film, “Cloud Kumo.” As a winner, Ng’s short film is eligible to compete for the 2016 Oscars ® in either the Documentary Short Subject, Animated Short Film or Live Action Short Film categories. The City College of New York’s output of underrepresented minority scientists and engineers for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is set to increase with the receipt of a $15.5 million grant from NOAA’s Office of Education.
