The direction of ocean currents can determine the direction of gene flow in rafting species, but this depends on species traits that allow for rafting propensity. Daniel Hila, a member of The City College of New York’s Class of 2020, is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in security and diplomacy at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Defying humankind’s greatest health crisis in more than a century, The City College of New York’s Andrea Gomez used technology to defend her dissertation and became the first NOAA CESSRST Fellow to earn a PhD.
