Yet again, The City College of New York is named one of the nation’s outstanding colleges for the high-value return it offers students on their investment in higher education, according to the 2017 edition of The Princeton Review’s Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck.
According to the Princeton Review, City College offers students a superb education with great career preparation at an affordable price.
“City College stands out not only for its outstanding academics but also for its affordability via comparatively low sticker prices and generous financial aid to students with need,” said Robert Franek, the Review’s senior vice president/publisher and lead author of the book. He also points out that City College students have access to extraordinary career services programs from their freshman year on, plus a lifetime of alumni connections and post-grad support.
City College students interviewed on campus cited affordability, outstanding programs, rigorous academics and strong ties to research collaborators and institutions as key to their success. One student praises CCNY professors in particular because they “exhibit great love for the materials they teach and generally go above and beyond to ensure hat students are able to grasp and apply the material.”
The Princeton Review selected schools based on a comprehensive analysis of more than 650 colleges that weighted 40 plus data points to tally ROI (return on investment) ratings for the schools. Data analyzed covered academics, cost, financial aid, graduation rates, student debt and more.
Data was collected from its 2015-16 surveys of administrators and students. It also factored in data from PayScale.com surveys on starting and mid-career salaries of alumni of the schools.
