The Graduate Program in Educational Theatre at The City College of New York presents the seventh annual Harlem Children’s Festival, Saturday, May 6 at Aaron Davis Hall. Activities include dramatic performances and a raffle. The festival is free and open to the public.
“Our goal is for our candidates to present their artistic work to an audience of captivated and inquisitive young people and their families. There is no better community to share their work with than the Harlem community,” said Jennifer Katona, program director, Educational Theatre Program.
Following is the schedule of events:
10:15 a.m. “Rainbow Fish” based on the children’s picture book by Marcus Pfister and adapted for ages three to eight;
10:45 a.m. “Dot-ish” based on the books “Ish” & “The Dot” by Peter H .Reynolds and adapted for ages two to five;
11:45 a.m. “The Reluctant Dragon” based on the book by Kenneth Grahame and adapted for all ages.
The Festival is produced by Sobha Kavanakudiyil, faculty, Educational Theatre Program, and by assistant producers Kinsey Keck and Hayley Wright, candidates in the program. For more information, contact educationaltheatre@ccny.cuny.edu .
