NSA Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cybersecurity

Welcome to the City College Cybersecurity Center. This is a hub for cybersecurity information and activities related to City College. For those who might be interested in pursuing careers in cybersecurity City College offers a Cybersecurity Master of Science degree, as well as undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering that provide the necessary academic foundations for graduate work in Cybersecurity. The PhD program in Electrical Engineering includes several faculty members with cybersecurity backgrounds and labs.

The Cybersecurity Master’s Program curriculum has been validated by the National Security Agency as part of its National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity program. The main goal of this program is to manage a collaborative cybersecurity educational program with U.S higher educational institutions that:

• Establishes standards for cybersecurity curriculum and academic excellence
• Includes competency development among students and faculty
• Values community outreach and leadership in professional development
• Integrates cybersecurity practice within the institution across academic disciplines
• Actively engages in solutions to challenges facing cybersecurity education

CCNY's Cybersecurity M.S. Program

The Cybersecurity Program at City College has forged a strong partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) which has a shared goal of building and strengthening the cybersecurity ecosystem in the city. The NYCEDC provided seed funding for the establishment of the Cybersecurity M.S. Program through its Cyber NYC initiative and supports ongoing projects such as the Cyber NYC Internships. From its inception, the goal of the master’s program has been to develop an industry-informed curriculum providing students with the practical skills required for professional success.
