Abstract   Population growth, climate uncertainties, and rising living standards have pressured globally limited water, food, and energy availability. It is estimated that 70% more food will be required by 2050 to feed 9 billion, 40% more water needed by 2030, and 50% energy by 2035, which triggers more worries to reduce global hunger and eradicate poverty. Climate change causes temporal and spatial shifts in precipitation and irrigation water availability that will impact crop yield and food production and is likely to worsen water shortages, particularly in arid and semiarid regions of the world. Hence, the need is to innovate climate-adaptive innovative technologies, methods, and processes for the farm-to-market value chain (food production, value addition, and distribution), conserving water through efficient management, including cleaning rivers and recycling water of municipal and industries. Integrating proven technologies, hands-on applied field research, and collaborative partnership with multidisciplinary expertise and in-country stakeholders may provide a resilient and scalable climate-smart solution to balance the nexus and bring prosperity to smallholder communities worldwide.
