A Talk with Allison Jackson, Feature FIlm Sound Mixer

Allison Jackson, a feature sound mixer, whose credits include Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Photograph, the NBC series The Village and more, will talk about her work, how she became a mixer, what the requirements of a mixer is on the set, how she approaches a production, and the kind of gear and setup she uses.
In 2007 Allison moved to New York after earning her MFA in filmmaking at the London Film School. She began working as a sound mixer for NYU and Columbia thesis films, slowly working her way into the world of independent short and feature films. In 2012 she became a member of Local 52 and has since been working as a sound mixer in union film and television.
