Physics Colloquium
Myriam Sarachik
Distinguished Professor Emerita
City College of New York
Title to be announced
Professor Sarachik has been awarded the 2020 APS Medal for Exceptional Achievement in Research.
The medal recognizes contributions of the highest level that advance our knowledge and understanding of the physical universe in all its facets, and is presented along with a $50,000 prize. The 2020 APS Medal is presented to Sarachik “for fundamental contributions to the physics of electronic transport in solids and molecular magnetism.”
The Low Temperature Research Group at the City College of New York (CCNY) Physics Department is dedicated to the study of condensed matter properties at low temperature. We are currently interested in two areas:
(I) Molecular Nanomagnets
(II) Novel Phenomena in Dilute Two-Dimensional Electron Systems.
