Grants Now for NY Filmmakers
Hear from funders that have upcoming deadlines for NY filmmakers - New York State Council on the Arts, Wavefarm and the Jerome Foundation! Note: If you are a current student, you cannot apply yet - but you will as soon as you're out of school! Get to know who the funders are!
The NYS Council on the Arts supports the visual, literary, media and performing arts and includes dedicated support for arts education and underserved communities - and for 2025, gave out 84 million in grants. TWN was the sponsor of 11 independent filmmakers and artists who were awarded. Their grant application will be available shortly. Wavefarm is an international transmission arts organization, and also cultivates creative practices in radio and supports artists and nonprofit organizations in their cultural endeavors. Wave Farm provides fiscal sponsorship, consultation, and grants to artists and organizations. They administer a regrant program with NYSCA support, and they have a grant deadline of March 1st. Jerome Foundation has a production grant available to NYC early career film directors whose work takes creative risks in expanding, questioning, experimenting with, or re-imagining filmmaking, with a deadline of April 3rd.
