The Color Of Care screening and Talk with Director Yance Ford
The Color of Care chronicles how people of color suffer from systemically substandard healthcare in the United States, with a pressing focus on how the Covid-19 pandemic shed light on the tragic consequences of that inequity. Executive produced by Oprah Winfrey and directed by Oscar nominated and Emmy winning filmmaker Yance Ford.
The documentary features first-hand accounts from individuals who lost loved ones to Covid-19, along with frontline medical workers who speak to the dire, overwhelmed state of various healthcare systems during the height of the pandemic. Throughout this testimony and along with expert interviews and copious amounts of data, The Color of Care lays bare the devastating toll embedded racism takes on our society as a whole.
RSVP to be able to stream the film from November 6th - 13th, and join the talk on November 9th at 6:30 PM with filmmaker Yance Ford on the making of the film and about their own journey to filmmaking.
This event is made possible through the Picture Motion Campaign, and is sponsored by Third World Newsreel and the Documentary Forum at CCNY.
