Augmented Reality with Damien McDuffie
Based in Oakland, California, Damien McDuffie is a creative technologist, digital archivist, AR artist and developer. He is also the founder of Black Terminus AR, an augmented reality camera company that lets artists and museums create, sell or commission AR works without a ton of code. Through Black Terminus AR, McDuffey is collaborating with mural artists and community historians in Oakland to create an AR history of the Black Panther Party. He also makes use of mobile apps a.k.a. “the studio in your pocket” to draw on a variety of accessible creative tools (including Canva, Inshot and Muglife) for the AR enhancements.
Hear from Damien and see how his ideas might open up possibilities for your own media work.
Presented by the Documentary Forum at CCNY, Third World Newsreel and copresented with Black Public Media. In collaboration with Scribe Video Center.
